Community care
Practical support designed around individual needs and everyday life.
Who it's for
Older people
Support to keep living life on your own terms — your routines, your home, your community.
People who need support in the community
Practical, dependable help arranged around how you live, not a fixed package.
Families
Reassurance that the person supporting someone you love has been carefully matched to them.
Care homes and organisations
Support connected with care homes, arranged around what the setting needs.
Support that starts with the person
No two people need the same support, so we don't start with a brochure of packages. We start with a conversation: who the support is for, what daily life looks like, and what would genuinely help.
Then we look for the right person — someone whose experience and manner actually fit. The right person matters as much as the support itself, and continuity matters too: support works best with a familiar face.
People are people, not cases. Support is shaped around independence and dignity — the things someone wants to keep doing, not just the things they need help with.
Careful about who we work with
The people Ashchild works with are checked appropriately for the role and the assignment. Depending on the role, that may include DBS checks and current safeguarding credentials.
What we do — and don't — provide
Ashchild provides practical, non-regulated support: companionship, help around the home, errands and shopping, getting out and about, and a dependable presence in the week.
We don't provide personal care — help with washing, dressing or medication — because in England those are regulated activities, and providing them requires registration with the Care Quality Commission. If what's needed turns out to include personal care, we'll say so plainly and help you find a CQC-registered provider, rather than stretch past what we should do.
Community care is available across Greater Manchester — if you're just outside, ask.
Arranging support
Get in touch
Tell us a little about who the support is for and roughly what kind of help you're looking for.
A proper conversation
A member of the team talks it through with you — needs, preferences, timing and anything that matters.
The right support, arranged
We find the right person and arrange support around the way you or your family actually live. And we stay easy to reach.
Arrange a consultation
A little information is enough to start. We don't ask for medical or health detail here — a member of the team will arrange a proper conversation about what's needed.
A member of the Ashchild team will be in touch within one working day.
